Ahmedabad to have India’s tallest hotel :

The Indian city of Ahmedabad is to have the country's tallest hotel. The 42-storey development will require an investment of Rs.350 crore ($77mn).

Located on the banks of the River Sabarmati, Ahmedabad is the largest city in the state of Gujarat and the seventh largest city in India, with a population of more than 5 million.

Indian Real Estate News reports that Shree Raj Tours & Travels is looking at land on the Sarkhej to Gandhinagar highway. The 500-room hotel will start from the 21st floor onwards while the first 20 floors would comprise of retail space, convention centre and recreational facilities.

The promoters have reportedly initiated discussions with international players like Accor, Sheraton and Four Seasons for the development and management of the project.
